Almost every property that comes onto the market needs a HIP (Home Information Pack). If your agent offers to arrange a viewing or tells you about a property but they don't have a HIP, they may well be breaking the law as one well known agent in the area knew full well but has just been caught and fined by Trading Standards Officers.

Don't let the cowboys get away from it, insist on a HIP and don't be afraid to contact your local trading standards office.
