One simple bit of advice that so few people follow yet, it is one of the biggest causes of problems between agent and customer. Contracts! When you employ an agent, take time to read the contract. If you don't understand it or if it closely resembles 'War and Peace' in length and readability then, DO NOT SIGN and keep asking questions about the contract until you are happy with what it contains. Ask for written clarification if need be and, if you are still not sure, trust your instincts and use another agent.
