PDQ Estates - Property for sale in Cornwall, Helston and Penzance

Politics free zone

11 May 2010

Although I am by nature a fairly political animal, I am thoroughly fed up with the saturation point of the News coverage of the fiasco that is the latest election; as I tongue in cheek remarked the other day on my blog, whoever you vote for, the government still gets in!

The housing market, having gone through a short period of holding its breath before the election, now seems to be picking up again; with viewings and sales on the up in our office.

Mortgages still continue to pose us problems with surveyors being particularly cautious and lenders call centres causing seeming determined to give Darran Andrews, our independent mortgage advisor, sky rocketing blood pressure. That being said, he has worked some miracles of late and all his patience and hard work have paid off for a large number of his customers.

The last few weeks has seen Jenny leave and return (without to many volcanic interruptions) on her summer holiday and, Laura finally finish work to have her baby. We would like to wish her and her partner congratulations on the birth of their first child, a healthy boy.

The pattern at the moment seems to be that we are registyering a great deal more first time buyers and investors looking for property at the entry end of the market whilst for those who own properties with a garden or a bit of character, we also have many people looking for this type of house as well.
